Frequently Asked Questions
Which is more accurate — Chaldean or Pythagorean? +
Both systems are valid but serve different purposes. Chaldean numerology (originating in ancient Babylon) is considered more accurate for character analysis and spiritual depth — it assigns values 1–8 (9 is sacred and unassigned). Pythagorean numerology (the Western system) is simpler and more widely used. Numeros Vision cross-checks both, which gives a more complete and reliable picture than either system alone.
What is the Expression Number? +
Your Expression Number (also called Destiny Number) is calculated from all the letters in your full birth name. It reveals your natural talents, abilities, and the role you are here to play in the world — essentially the "what" of your life's journey. The Life Path Number shows the path; the Expression Number shows the gifts you bring to that journey.
What is the Soul Urge Number? +
Your Soul Urge Number (Heart's Desire Number) is calculated only from the vowels in your full birth name. It reveals your innermost motivations, what you secretly crave, and what truly makes you feel fulfilled at the soul level — even if you have never consciously articulated it. It explains why you sometimes want things that don't seem to match your external personality.
Can changing my name alter my numerology? +
Yes — but with important nuances. Your birth name carries the original blueprint and is always your primary numerological identity. A changed name (married name, stage name, legal name change) creates an overlay — it adds additional energy on top of your birth name. A well-chosen new name can genuinely strengthen your vibration. Numeros Vision recommends always calculating both the birth name and current name for a complete picture.
What does it mean if my name and life path are in different numbers? +
A divergence simply means your name vibration and life path carry different energies. This creates productive creative tension — you feel pulled between your natural calling (Life Path) and the identity your name projects (Expression). Many successful people have this dynamic — it creates drive and complexity of character. The key is awareness: understanding the tension helps you consciously choose when to lead with which energy.
